Grande Prairie Regional College has some fun with online course registration.
GRANDE PRAIRIE - New and prospective post-secondary students who are looking for a little back to school motivation just got their wish granted. Today, Grande Prairie Regional College (GPRC) kicked off a virtual scavenger hunt that features four $2000 tuition vouchers for the lucky winners.
“Over the last year with COVID-19 we’ve all gotten quite used to virtual connections and processes,” says Vanessa Sheane, Interim Vice-President, Academic and Research. “Our GPRC student engagement team thought it was the perfect time to inject a little fun into our online enrollment process for new certificate, diploma or university transfer program students.”
The contest will run from April 8th - July 1st, 2021. To get started, new or prospective students for Fall 2021 must first visit GPRC.me/FreeTuition and download a unique GPRC scavenger hunt cookie. Once this step is complete, new students will be able to explore the GPRC website and collect various ‘back to school’ themed icons that have been strategically placed on a variety of informative pages.
“We’ve set it up to help future students get all the information they’ll need as newcomers to campus,” explains Sheane. “In total there are 10 icons to collect and with each discovery, students will get a congratulatory message.”
Once all icons are successfully located, scavenger hunt participants will be invited to enter to win one of the grand prizes. Only new students who have officially enrolled into their program of choice, have been accepted, and have registered for courses in the upcoming 2021/22 academic year will be eligible for the tuition voucher draw.
“GPRC is proud to offer a number of in-demand certificate, diploma and university transfer programs,” adds Sheane. “Be it health, business, early childhood, power engineering, computer systems technology, fine arts or many other rewarding career pathways, GPRC is equipping students with specialized knowledge and marketable skills.”
