Yin Yoga
Tuesdays @ 5:00pm - 6:00pm
- Dates: January 19 - March 30, 2021 | 10 Classes
*Note: there will be no class on February 16, 2021 - Location: Online
- Instructor: Leigh Roberts
Class Description
Yin Yoga works deeply into your body with passive, longer-held poses. This practice targets the deepest tissues - ligaments, joints, bones, and the deep fascia networks of the body - rather than the muscle. Yin Yoga improves the energy flow, enhancing the flow of chi in the organs. To be healthy, we need healthy organs as well as healthy muscles. Yin yoga also offers wonderful emotional and mental health benefits.

Embodiment Yoga Series

- Dates: January 18 - March 29, 2021 | 10 Classes
*Note: there will be no class on February 15, 2021 - Location: Online
- Instructor: Coryn Briggs
Class Description
This yoga series will address how to recognize emotional, mental and physical symptoms in the body. Coryn will guide and facilitate a safe and gentle environment of introduction to yoga and how it can be helpful to manage day-to-day stressors, and to move through the impacts that Covid has had in our lives.
Now more than ever we need systems, tools and structures in place to attend to our mental health. Our mental health is a gateway to our physical and emotional health. All areas of our lives are connected. Coryn will teach you powerful ways to ground your body, to recognize emotional triggers and give you tangible exercises and tools to work through the challenges you experience.
Mindfulness and meditation will also encompass a part of this series, as it's so important to create a healthy space to slow down and reflect on life. A journal, a mat and a water bottle are all you'll need for this class.

Mental Skills Training
4-part series
- Dates: January 19 - March 18, 2021 | 4 Sessions
- Location: Online
- Instructor: Matthew Bain
1. What will I do differently/better in the second semester?
Tuesday, January 19, 2021 | 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Reflection is a key skill at all levels of life. Knowing how to accurately reflect as opposed to just "feeding the critical mind" is important. Looking at factors related to your learning, changing expectations and how to adapt, as well as how to creatively create a more personal relationship with your learning are all important facets to second semester performance, and hopefully beyond!!
2. Handling the Uncontrollables:
Identify, Illuminate, and Eliminate Distractions
Monday, February 1, 2021 | 6:00pm - 7:00pm
How many times have you sat down to study, and realized just how important it is to reorganize your apps or create file folders for every single paper you have ever written, or feel the need to conquer the next level of Call of Duty? These are not distractions since they are already in your normal repertoire. However, WHEN you need to be doing them is a different matter. Find some creative solutions to managing distractions by learning about focus, prioritizing your goals, and then strategizing how to meet the goals effectively.
3. Gravitating Toward my Excellence:
Wellness does not just mean Absence of Illness
Tuesday, February 23, 2021 | 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Operating at a subpar level seems almost expected these days. Or any days. However, since it has been a long time since we did not operate at a subpar level, we may not even know we are! Discovering how you are managing your wellness, establishing a stronger understanding for specific areas to improve, and then putting plans into action can lead to lower levels of stress, clearer thinking, better concentration, and even more quality rest.
4. Gearing up for the Final Grind:
Study and Exam-taking Strategies
Thursday, March 18, 2021 | 6:00pm - 7:00pm
This is a real thing! Ok, at least the anxiety is the real thing. The exam, well, I guess that is also. How did they became a pairing, a duo, a coupling? We made them this way. An exam is NOT an anxious thing - it is a piece (or multiple pieces) of paper. Or, in this case, multiple PDF pages to scroll past, or questions to scan on a screen. Regardless, let's work together to get to know this anxiety-friend, note strategies to thrive in preparing for a different exam experience, and get to know this process a little better. Who knows, maybe exams will just become that... an exam. Let's focus on one thing at a time, shall we? Together?
